Man arrested in deadly shooting at Haverstock Hill Apartments
A man was arrested Friday in connection with a fatal shooting at the Haverstock Hill Apartments in north Harris County, authorities say.
Juan Jose Williams, 41, was apprehended by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force about a mile north of the crime scene, in the 15300 block of Lee Road, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Murder charges are pending.
The slain man has been identified as Germarcus Martin, 28. Martin was visiting his sister at the apartment around 7 p.m. Friday when he was ambushed in the parking lot, according to family members and the sheriff’s office.
An unidentified woman sparked a short conversation with Martin and returned to a group of men standing nearby. A man, believed to be Williams, emerged from the group and shot Martin in the head, the sheriff’s office said.
Detectives identified Williams through video surveillance footage inside the apartment. He was taken to the Harris County Jail.
